Hospice
Services
Hospice
is simply defined as end-of-life
care. Hospice provides palliative,
or comfort care, to the terminally
ill when a physician has determined
a six month or less life expectancy.
Focusing on the quality of life,
the care is provided in the patient’s
residence, whether that is in their
house, nursing home, or assisted
living.
Hospice
is a compassionate team of care
giving professionals working together
to serve not only the patient, but
also their family. An individualized
plan of care allows patient and
family in decisions regarding the
patient’s plan of care and allows
the patient and family to participate
fully in the final stages of life.
